Not only that, but thanks for going out of your way to fit me in for a temporary plate so that I felt comfortable and confident to attend a re-union with old friends whilst my bridge was being sorted out.  You really know how to treat your patients as unique individuals and listen to what they want.

I was pleasantly surprised that you do not talk your patients into costly additional dental work, but rather understand personal circumstances giving options and choices.  I particularly like the payment plan scheme which was a massive saving.  Excellent after care service and wonderful polite staff, I will recommend your services to friends and family no problem!

‘After experiencing problems with being given anaesthetic for dental treatment and not being given any explanations as to why this was happening I found myself in the position of needing urgent dental treatment, but not knowing where to turn.

I was recommended Smile Essential by a friend, I was very nervous even for the initial check up but was soon put at ease by the team, who are very understanding and supportive of my fears. They took time to listen to my worries and looked into the problems I had encountered, for the first time I was offered an explanation regarding this and faced my first treatment which was to have two teeth surgically removed.

As you can probably imagine I was extremely nervous, but with the support and understanding of Lina and the other staff this turned out to have been unnecessary.  I carried on to have two more extractions followed by two fillings and had no problems at all.  I have no anxious feelings about any further treatment in the future.

I would recommend anyone and, in particular anyone with a phobia of dental treatment to seek help at Smile Essential for a very stress free experience in a very relaxed friendly practice.

‘I would like to say a big thank you to everyone at Smile Essential, from the receptionists to the dental surgeons.

I am somewhat ashamed to say it, but I have abused my teeth for 65 years and it is only thanks to Smile Essential that my views have changed.  To begin with they offer everything one can possibly want; they are located in a most useful position for anybody who uses either public transport or car.  Although just outside of the city, the buses stop on the main Narborough Road only a short distance from the practice. There is no actual car park but there is always ample space to park just around the corner from the practice on Dumbleton Avenue.

My experiences of dentists in the past have been mixed but far from contented and I have a number of medical problems to contend with as well.  However Smile Essential soon put me at ease and gave me confidence which I never experienced before.  Everyone is so kind and courteous, they go to great lengths to obtain your previous situation and they are even more concerned about any medical problems you may have including medications etc.

I can not thank them enough for changing my outlook and the work they have done for me and I highly recommend them to everyone.’

‘Dear Lina,

As you know I had not visited a dentist in over 8 years.  Because my experiences of dentists in the past had been quite bad, my teeth were not in good shape at all, with lost fillings, broken and chipped teeth nearly down to my gums.  I had gaps which stopped me from smiling properly, always covering my mouth with my hand or looking away. I knew I needed extensive work doing.

My sister, who lives near to your practice, is a patient of yours and recommended I try you saying that you would not take out my teeth, unless it was absolutely the last resort and you were sympathetic to one suffering from such a fear of the dentists.

So I decided to travel the 26 miles to see you for my first check up in years.  On that first visit and examination I was so, so nervous.  I heard things like, root canals: have to remove nerves, crowns and bridges which filled me with absolute horror especially as one of my biggest dreads was having to have injections to start these procedures with, I hated injections!

After 10 visits to you my teeth look really good now I want to thank you very much, not only for saving all my teeth and giving me a confident smile, (I do not have any gaps now) but also for the time you took in making sure I was fully aware of what you intended to do by explaining every procedure and what to expect during each treatment.

It gave me so much confidence.  You put me at ease from the very first visit and I continued to feel relaxed right the way through all the treatments. You have taken every fear of going to the dentist away, I can honestly say you did not hurt me once during the whole treatment, and I didn’t even feel the injections!

You are a wonderful dentist with a lovely calming disposition and I would not hesitate in recommending you at all and in fact I have already been recommending you to my friends and other relatives, and will continue to do so.  If anyone would like to ask me personally about my treatments I would be more than happy to speak with them. Once again thank you very much for all that you have done and see you in six months!!!!
