Gemma Harrington
Dental Hygienist
Gemma is a dental hygienist who qualified from Liverpool Dental Hospital in 2001. She has worked in a variety of practice settings and is known for her gentle chairside manner. Working together with the dentists, she plays an important role in dental health care and is mainly concerned with gum health, showing people correct home care and applying preventive materials to the teeth and gums.
She is committed to providing an exceptional level of patient care and regularly undertakes Continued Professional Development to keep up to date with the latest concepts in preventive dental care.
In June 2007 Gemma volunteered with Dental Charity Bridge2Aid, providing care and education in rural areas of Tanzania. She is also a regular volunteer with the WRVS at the Leicester Royal Infirmary and Crisis at Christmas, a homeless charity providing social, medical and dental care over the Christmas period.
Outside of Dentistry, Gemma enjoys spending time with her baby son James and husband. In addition, she is a novice ballroom dancer and has two Bassett Hound dogs which she enjoys taking for long walks.
